Every time I want to use it, the machine icon gets encircled by a yellow dashed line for a second or two, but nothing happens, the electricity symbol does not appear on the machine icon and my range does not increase.

The problem happens all the time, I probably could use range extension machine like once in all of my games combined.
Other players have mixed responses, some say it happened to certain tribes, other had no issues, other knew my issues.
Sorry, no screenshot, but ... screenshot of something not happening is probably quite difficult.
