I wanted to hire a tradesman for 2 influence and add them to my ready supply but NOT place them.• Što ste pokušali učiniti kad ste pokrenuli ovu akciju u igri?
I could find no way in the interface to do this. The only time I see the choice to hire a tradesman for 2 influence is when I'm placing a tradesman on a space.• Šta sе dogodilo kada stе to pokušali (poruka o grеški, poruka statusnе trakе igrе, ...)?

The rules do not indicate that you can only hire a tradesman when you are about to place them. This has also been confirmed by one of the game designers here:
