I noticed your table only has Wessex expansion so even with the fix it won't be possible to use the underbutler as the hallboy (the extra servants are only available in upstairs/downstairs). I will update the tooltip description as well to "May perform four male service roles - butler, valet, footman or hall boy - at any time. Hall boy only when playing with upstairs / downstairs expansion" hopefully the updated description helps clarify.
nonetheless it is definitely a bug in the U/D expansion scenario, surprised it has not come up yet. will fix. thanks.
